Series based games last week FalloutWhich turned out to be surprisingly good quality, which led it to compete side by side with other similar products viz our end Which has already confirmed its second season. Of course, many of the characters are completely new to the show, and it makes users think that maybe it’s not in the same universe as the games, and luckily there’s already an answer to this mystery.
Recently known as the medium of video games IGNDid an interview with the two great men responsible for the series, the producers, Jonathan Nolan, Todd Howard de Bethesda, who gave some interesting answers about the process of making it. And that’s where they talked about canon, confirming that it was indeed set in the same universe, especially since what happened right after the events of it. Fallout New Vegas.
Here is what is referred to by Howard:
E: Was there any pushback when creating a show that was so faithful to game art design traditions?
Howard: I mean, there was a lot of conversation. Things come up. See, every time we make a game, we also want to move the story forward. We are looking at things and how do we add? And so does the show, since they had story elements they wanted to do. It’s like, oh, that’s really interesting. Let’s find a way to make that work…
So Graham and Geneva wanted to blow up Shady Sands. The first time they mention it, you say: ” that You want to?” I had an emotional reaction, given the history of that location in the Fallout 1 franchise, and we talked about it, and it was, “It’s going to be a very influential moment in history that will anchor a lot of things.” And for people to hear that, We are careful with the timeline. There may be a little confusion in places, but everything that happened in the previous games, including New Vegas, we are very careful about.
E: The Fall of Shady Sands” takes place in 2277, four years before New Vegas. So people don’t understand what “Shady Sands Fall” means or something?
Howard : All I can say is that we’re tightening it up, but the bomb dropped right after the New Vegas incident. That’s when Shady Sand explodes.
E: So basically, “the fall of the Shady Sands,” doesn’t necessarily mean an atomic bomb?
Howard : correct
