You must provide access through your Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive account to use this feature. However, once you’ve done that, you can select a variety of file types, including spreadsheets, presentations, and documents, to import directly into ChatGPT.
Next, OpenAI updated the ChatGPT interface so that you can view spreadsheet files specifically in a full-screen view and with an interactive interface that shows any changes you make in real time using the underlying AI model.
Once finished, you can also download a copy of the table or document edited by ChatGPT directly from the ChatGPT interface.
As OpenAI writes on its blog, “You can now customize and interact with bar, line, pie, and scatter charts in conversations, ask additional questions, or choose colors to use in presentations or documents.”
For privacy-conscious users, OpenAI notes on its blog that “We do not train using ChatGPT team and enterprise customer data, and ChatGPT Plus users can opt out of training through data controls” (which is available in the Settings menu). .
Although ultimately a feature update, this is a very important update for those who use ChatGPT to edit documents. It aims to save users time and give them more options when using a chatbot.
