After a long hiatus, Ingress Prime returned on July 30th with an anomaly (ie a real world event). The game is a real-world mobile game that transforms the real world into a massive sci-fi universe and multiplayer playfield. As part of the event in Munich, there is a very early opportunity to test the new AR audio feature Developed by Sony in collaboration with Niantic To mark the occasion, Niantic representatives will be present at the Praterincell in Munich.
Spatial audio and head tracking features greatly enhance immersion in AR games. A world first chance to see for yourself is offered by Ingress Anomaly next weekend. Pokemon GO Developer’s first hit is Portal Questing in Ingress Prime deterministic, a core part of the game. Thanks to the new Sony Link Buds features, gamers don’t have to look at their phone to track them. Instead, they can now also be located through words. When you turn your head, the headphones track the movement and adjust the sound accordingly. This makes the gaming experience more immersive, but also safer, as the LinkBuds’ “Ring Driver” ensures that ambient sound is clearly audible to players.
Niantic staff will be available to answer any questions on July 30 (2:30 pm – 5:30 pm) at the Praterinsel in Munich. Among others, there is an opportunity to speak with Tristin Hightower (Community Specialist), Hilda Leung (Community Manager APAC). Dominik Schönleben (Global Community Manager) is happy to help with interviews in German
Headphones must be made available on site during this testing period.
