As of Saturday morning, the Xbox status page remained red, indicating that the Game Pass store and subscriptions were experiencing a major outage. Games available on Game Pass may not be available online or certain titles may be missing certain details.
Shortly after 7:30 a.m. ET, the team posted a status update saying that fixing the issue was “taking longer than expected.” No new update has been released on the official Xbox
For those affected, it is still uncertain whether we will see a solution before the end of the week.
As of 5:00 PM PT, Xbox Game Pass is still unavailable. We haven’t heard any further news from the official Microsoft channel.
The Xbox status page remains red, indicating that Game Pass is experiencing a major outage. Xbox X Support continues to forward requests to the Account Status page.
We reached out to a Microsoft spokesperson for more details, but they declined to respond to our initial email.
It’s still unclear why Game Pass is having the problem. Crowdstrike outages, as previously suspected, may cause cascade effect problems. Accounts attempting to pay for an ongoing or new Game Pass subscription experienced problems sending payments from July 17 to July 19, the same time the CrowdStrike outage occurred.
Another theory is that it’s a calendar or clock problem related to the price hike that started in September, affecting people’s ability to renew their memberships. Microsoft may not want anyone to buy a new subscription and keep the old price.
I saw some X and Reddit users claiming it was related to the Modern Warfare 3 hack yesterday. I couldn’t confirm the MW3 hack. It appears that the game or servers are suffering from an error code called “Detrick Guernsey,” which also affected Modern Warfare 2, although the issue occurred on PC and not Xbox One.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t help with games acquired through Game Pass or some multiplayer games that require the service to access.
The outage is still ongoing and for some people we were without access to Game Pass for almost 24 hours, meaning they couldn’t enjoy their Xbox games.
The PC version of Game Pass doesn’t seem to be affected.
This week is also full of multiplayer games: the Modern Warfare 3 remake is coming to Game Pass and the new Valorant beta is also out today. Additionally, EA’s long-awaited College Football 25 was released last week and people are still looking for this awesome football game.
A Microsoft spokesperson contacted us regarding the Game Pass outage. But unfortunately they didn’t give us any information other than checking the status page.

It’s 3:00 PM Pacific Time and Game Pass is still having problems. Incident reporting time has been pushed back to 5:00pm yesterday and resolution appears to be underway.
Otherwise, we expect the Game Pass outage to be global, with people around the world reporting issues on Twitter and Reddit.
No one from Xbox has said anything officially, but there has been a small change on the Xbox status page indicating that this Game Pass issue may last longer than 24 hours.
Both login issues and game view issues now say that the first outage was reported at 9am today (July 26th), which doesn’t seem to be true given last night’s issues as something else.
The most interesting update is that the problem doesn’t seem to be fixed as of 5:55 am tomorrow (July 27).
Victims may have to wait overnight.

We’ve reached out to Xbox for comment and will update if they respond. However, during the recent outage, no one from Xbox was willing to answer, so we don’t expect an answer this time either.
The Game Pass outage has currently been going on for about 20 hours.
I’m seeing speculation from Xbox players that this is related to the upcoming Game Pass price hike.

One error screen we keep seeing screenshots of is related to a Game Pass extension with an error message that says “You already own it.”

Some Reddit users are speculating whether the CrowdStrike crash is causing a lag effect on Xbox systems.
This may not be the cause as the CrowdStrike issue was fixed earlier this week However, the problem must be related to the Game Pass system’s clock or calendar. Several reports The data shows that accounts whose subscriptions expired between July 17 and July 19 have been awaiting payment since then.
The Crowdstrike outage began on July 19.
As of 3:20 PM EST, the Xbox status page still lists Game Pass outages as a major issue, with separate issues related to Game Pass purchases and Game Pass games still affected.
