After rumors and leaks, Xbox has finally revealed some details about its plans to share Game Pass accounts. phone call Play for friends and familyIt is not yet available in the US. But when (or if) it finally becomes available outside of the countries where Microsoft is testing it, it sure looks like a great thing.
Game Pass is actually one of the best deals in gaming right now. For $10 per month, you get access to a regular library of hundreds of games on your Xbox or PC. For $15 per month, you can subscribe to the highest tier: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which offers combined access to the Xbox and PC libraries, Game Library Pack from EA Play (a similar on-demand publishing service for sports games) and offers 100 Ability to stream more than one game. Game Pass Friends & Family is essentially ultimate, but you can share an account with up to five people with one person designated as the primary account holder.
Game Pass Friends and Family is currently in beta in Colombia and the Republic of Ireland and costs COP 49,000 or €21.99 per month. (As of this writing, that fee is $10.92, or $21.99 in US currency.) Xbox Game Pass Ultimate currently costs 29,000 COP in Colombia And 12,99 € in Ireland.
Anyone who signs up for Game Pass will see their current membership months converted to partial months on their membership plan. If you’re currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, 18 days of Game Pass Friends and Family will become available each remaining month. Those who sign up for the Shared Tier will see their subscription converted to a 12-day Game Pass Friends & Family.
Assuming Microsoft maintains the same pricing system worldwide, Game Pass Friends and Family is theoretically worth considering. The company agrees the high price, which is currently around $22 in Ireland, is still a good deal. Get four friends on board, and you’ll each pay less than $5 for what you get for triple the price. (It’s also a smart way for Microsoft to increase Game Pass subscribers, haha Recent goal misses.)

But there are some limitations. If you are the account holder, you may only have four additional people on your account at any time, and may share with only eight unique accounts in a calendar year. And it’s region-locked: the primary account holder can only add members residing in the same country or region.
Microsoft is currently testing the plan, but it’s unclear if there are specific plans to bring Game Pass friends and family to regions outside of the two, or what the potential timeline would be. (Microsoft representatives did not respond to requests for comment in time for publication.) But Microsoft has released Encyclopedia FAQ The US Xbox support page has at least some considerations for US gamers that suggest this. He noted that “future countries may join in the coming months.”
