Xbox Live, Microsoft’s multiplayer gaming and digital media network, experienced technical problems on Tuesday as thousands of users reported problems accessing it.
According to monitoring site Downdetector, user-reported issues with Xbox Live began to increase around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday. As of 2:25 p.m., more than 23,000 outage reports had been logged on the website, with more than three-quarters saying they had trouble logging in. Some Xbox Live users have reported seeing an error message saying the service is undergoing “scheduled maintenance.”
Other Microsoft-powered services, including Minecraft and the Microsoft Store, have also experienced a lot of user error messages related to Downdetector.
The official Xbox support account on X It is published 2:55 PM EST: “We are aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live. We are investigating!” This message indicates to users Xbox-Statusseite – which was last updated that a major outage in Account and Profile services was reported at 2:07 pm. “You may be unable to sign in to your Xbox profile, be disconnected during sign-in, or have other related issues,” reads the message on the Xbox status page. “Features that require a login, such as most games, apps and social activities, will not be available.”
Microsoft users are required to have an Xbox Live account (which is free to set up) to play games online and access other experiences on Xbox consoles, Windows PC, and Xbox mobile apps.
Xbox Live users took to social media to voice their opinions on the technical issues:
