It’s got a bit of an iPhone and yet it looks visually independent. The new Xiaomi 13 should form the basis of Xiaomi’s new flagship series. It looks very high quality, even if it is the cheaper version of the two new Android models.
Xiaomi has already celebrated a few points. This includes a higher battery capacity of 4,500 mAh, without the battery getting bigger. A 6.36-inch OLED panel is used for the display, which offers a brightness of up to 1900 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Xiaomi 13 looks a lot like the iPhone, especially when it comes to the frame. But overall, the design is extremely coherent and clean. I like the narrow bezels on the screen, the device is only 71.5mm wide. The blue variant uses a type of synthetic leather, while other models will have a more glassy feel.
It charges at 67 watts wired and 50 watts wireless. You can charge other devices wirelessly with 10 watts on the back Xiaomi relies on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor for processors. RAM is based on LPDDR5X standard and data storage has UFS 4.0 speed.
For the camera, Xiaomi relies on the IMX800 sensor from Sony (1/1.49″) with 50 MP resolution and “HyperOIS”. Zoom 3.2x, digital assist up to 30x. And the third camera is 120 degree ultra wide angle. All optimized with Leica support.
There is also support for digital car keys (Tesla, BMW), includes IP68 certification for waterproof housing, two speaker equipment with Dolby Atmos for great mobile sound and of course the new MIUI 14. There is 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the top model has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
We will know the price and availability for Europe only later.
