If something breaks with the new Xiaomi 14 UItra, it can burn a big hole in your wallet.
Xiaomi recently announced the official repair costs for its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and its China-only Titanium variant. Compared to the previous model, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the price of individual components has increased dramatically.
The price increase for displays is particularly noticeable. The Titanium version costs 220 euros to replace the display, which is about 51 percent more than the 13 Ultra (146 euros). The regular 14 Ultra display is significantly more expensive at 176 euros (+21 percent).

Motherboard repairs cost 394 euros for the 14 Ultra variant, which is 28 percent more than the 13 Ultra (309 euros). Replacing the battery cover becomes an incredible 65 percent more expensive. Other components such as batteries are affected by the price increase, although a 10 percent increase is tolerable.
When it comes to cameras, Xiaomi is taking a more customer-friendly approach. Instead of setting a high standard price for all cameras, the manufacturer doesn’t charge less overall, but depending on the damaged component. A faulty telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra costs a fraction of what the Xiaomi 13 Ultra costs.
It should be noted that the prices mentioned here are based on the conversion from Yuan to Euro and different costs may apply for the German Xiaomi service. Still, they give a good idea of ​​the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s generally increased component costs compared to its predecessor.
Interestingly, the titanium frame that the special edition features is not listed separately in the repair cost list. It is not yet clear if it can even be replaced in case of scratches or damage or if the cost is hidden in other components.
