Xiaomi had its problems during and after the C period, but things are going very well for the company now. This is shown not only by the strong response to new electric cars, but also by the smartphone market
With the latest figures for 2024, the year is over and you can look back. Xiaomi was clearly the rising star of last year and the last few years. With Samsung you have to start thinking about it.
If we take Apple out of the equation and just look at Android OEMs, Samsung has a growing problem and that is Xiaomi. In the last three years, this gap has narrowed from 9 to just 5 percent.
With Samsung still holding a 21 percent market share in 2022 and Xiaomi safely adrift at 12 percent, the wind has changed. Samsung grew to just 19 percent and Xiaomi to 14 percent.
If things continue like this for Samsung in the coming years, you’ll have to fear not only Apple, but Xiaomi as well. Regardless, the top is moving closer together again. Oppo and Vivo, on the other hand, lost or stagnated.
It will be exciting if Xiaomi introduces its first smartphone chip in the coming years and may even increase its own margins. Money that can then be used for further growth.
Do you see Xiaomi on its way to the top?
