Car accident detection was introduced on the Google Pixel years ago, and now, after a long wait, the function is finally rolling out to German users. This function can now be activated.
With the latest Pixel drop, Google has announced that various functions will finally be available in Germany. These include fall detection on the Pixel Watch, but car crash detection on the Pixel Phone.
The function detects a car accident using sensors and background noise and can automatically trigger an emergency call. Location information is transmitted and you can call an emergency number if needed.
As our readers have noticed, you can now enable car accident detection. This should be possible on all Pixel smartphones starting with the Pixel 6. Can be found in system settings under “Emergency and safety” > “Vehicle accident detection”.
Fall detection should be enabled on Pixel Watch models around the same time.
