BigBear.ai has announced that the company has appointed Tony Barrett as President of the Cyber and Engineering Sector.
In this role, Barrett will drive the growth of BigBear.ai’s federal market by developing and deploying artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, and technological expertise and innovative solutions to accelerate the development of new businesses. Top service for customers.
Previously, Barrett was senior vice president of the Integrated Defense Solutions business unit at BigBear.ai’s cyber and engineering sector, serving in the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Homeland Security. Early in his career, Barrett worked for more than two decades in the Marine Corps in the field of intelligence as an analyst and intelligence officer.
In Barrett’s 11 years since retiring from the Marines, he has applied the leadership, planning and decision-making principles he learned in both peacetime and war to achieve business objectives at Modus Operandi and PCI, which BigBear.ai achieved in 2021. During his three years at PCI, he was instrumental in securing new businesses, quadrupling the revenue and staffing, and providing services to the Department of Defense.

About a quarter of BigBear.ai’s employees are military veterans, including Barrett and Gordy. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Barrett has spent many years devoting his time to helping seniors transform from active duty to civilian life.
In 2020, he founded Veterans Command Post, an experienced-centered employee resource group (ERG) on BigBear.ai. As the group’s executive sponsor and chairperson, she conducts charitable campaigns for veterans, informative sessions to help veterans navigate complex government facilities, and leadership programs to help veterans improve their skills and career path at BigBear.ai.
