(Pocket-Lint) – Google has developed artificial intelligence that is capable of creating images based on simple text input. Imagine, as it is known, is said to easily outperform the competition to create realistic artwork based on user words.
We’ve seen this kind of technology before, where it can be used to generate adverbial networks and AI such as VQ-GAN + CLIP, Latent Diffusion Models and DALL-E 2 to create interesting images.
In fact, we’ve used AI before to create interesting portraits of people. But Imagine promises “an unprecedented level of photorealism and a deeper level of language comprehension.”
Pictures Comes from The Brain Team of Google Research. The team said that due to a breakthrough in the training model, Imagine works so well that scaling the language model helps improve performance. It’s still early days, but Imagine can present a fascinating view of the future where AI can be used to create images instead of Photoshop.
Although not yet available to the public, Imagine has been used to enchant some fantastic images.
Rekun is an astronaut
As you can see from these pictures, Google’s AI is capable of creating some fun weird pictures with just a few words.
It was created using a phrase:
“Picture of a raccoon wearing an astronaut helmet, looking out the window at night.”
A happy corgi
That’s a happy puppy. Looking at some of these images, it’s hard to believe that they were created by AI rather than real photographs and Photoshop dashes.
Yet it was only made from the text – “A house made of sushi has a beautiful corgi.”
A corgi in Times Square
Imagination can create detailed images by understanding the seemingly language requirements and the multiple things you ask them to include.
Request “A picture of a Corgi dog riding a bike in Times Square. It’s wearing sunglasses and a beach hat.” And that’s what you get.
The space brain
Some AI-created images are obviously a touch more vague and abstract than others, but no less impressive when you consider user requirements.
One researcher here said “a brain is launching a rocketship towards the moon.”
The glass balls are spreading
In addition to the abstract, Imagine can create believable and realistic images of real-world objects and events.
Here the request to scatter three glass balls in the water near sunset was faithfully made.
Glass duck
We are fascinated by the range of industries that can create this AI. It’s not just portraits of animals or people, but much more.
“A transparent sculpture of a duck made of glass. The sculpture is in front of a landscape image.”
Sprouted text
It may look more like a classic stock image than an image created by AI but it is still the result of what was requested.
“Text from a fairy tale sprouts in the form of ‘images.'”
Flooded industry
This one has a real dystopian vibe to it. Where AI has created an image that is apparently being seen by a flooded art gallery robot.
“An art gallery displaying monetary paintings. The art gallery is flooded. Robots are moving around the art gallery using paddle boards.”
Calm cactus
If you live in the desert, it is best to try to stay cool. This cactus must be managing.
“A small cactus wearing a straw hat and neon sunglasses in the Sahara Desert.”
Birds
Here AI has apparently created an image of a bird that looks so desperate that you would dare to see its macaroons.
An angry tortoise
It’s almost as strange and wonderful as things can get.
“A chrome-plated duck is arguing with an angry tortoise in a forest with a golden beak.”
The robot is drinking
These robots are apparently having a romantic time drinking wine in front of the Eiffel Tower.
We like that a few robots have been instructed to show good dining, AI has chosen to give robots two drinks.
An intelligent octopus
Imagine having an AI that you can use to create any image you want with just one short sentence. What will you make?
“An alien octopus is floating through a portal reading a newspaper.”
A DJ’ing koala
“A marble statue of a Koala DJ in front of a marble statue on a turntable. Koala wearing big marble headphones.”
