Google Pixel 7 is slowly on its way, it’s not three months away yet. Meanwhile, new information about integrated hardware continues to appear.
Google changes the camera hardware
In theory, we already know what hardware to expect in the devices. Over the past few days, publicly accessible source codes have once again confirmed that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro use the same camera sensor for the front camera. That’s a jump up from the Pixel 6, especially for the Pixel 7. More power, more features.
For the Pixel 7 Pro, it was clarified that a different camera sensor is used for the zoom camera. Technically, however, it shouldn’t be much better or different. Instead, it primarily changes the manufacturer or supplier. Samsung instead of Sony. This can still bring an improvement, because then more camera sensors come from one brand and this can be an advantage in image processing.
The sensor inside, which was on the last Google Pixel 2
Now, when you look at the source codes, you notice something again. A Hall sensor or Hall sensor integration is likely planned for the Pixel 7. It is a sensor primarily used to detect magnetic cases on smartphones and similar devices. Google last installed such a sensor in the Pixel 2 and hasn’t since since they haven’t even offered such a case.
Well, the Pixel 6a is also said to have such a sensor integrated, which is not listed anywhere. Only drivers that exist in the source code of the software expose it But you can move the smartphone with a small magnet and see if the smartphone “touches” the display off, like in a corresponding case.
Until now, Google has not offered such cases with a flap. But perhaps you will expand here soon? As always, remains to be seen.
