The Xbox Series S A fantastic console for the masses. At an affordable price of $299, many have the opportunity to enjoy all that this generation has in store for us. However, with fewer CPUs and GPUs than the Series X, developers often face various issues when optimizing the experience for this console. luckily, A new update makes this process easier.
Recently, a software update was released for the Xbox Series S development kits, which Xbox Series S frees up more memory for developers to access games and improves performance on certain titles. What was said about it was:
“Hundreds of additional megabytes of memory are now available to Xbox Series S developers. This gives developers more control over memory, which can improve graphics performance in memory-constrained situations.”
While the Series X is capable of running games at up to 1440p and 120fps, most titles are only available at 1080p and 60fps. This is mainly because the console only has 10GB of RAM, of which only 8GB can be used, with the other 2GB being used by the operating system. luckily, The additional memory from the update will increase the visual capabilities of future titles.
On a related note, these are the new games for Xbox Game Pass. Similarly, the Microsoft Store has a pirated clone of God of War.
Editor’s note:
As an Xbox Series S user, I have to say that the console is much more capable than one might think. While obviously a lot depends on the developers, this piece of hardware is capable of running next-gen games, ray-tracing and more in a big way.
