It has been a very busy day Twitter. This morning it was confirmed that around 50% of the company’s employees will be laid off without notice. It has been said that more than three thousand workers will no longer be able to work in the company’s office. in answer, Twitter and Elon Musk have been sued.
According to Bloomberg, about 3,700 workers lost their jobs. In response, Twitter is being sued for failing to provide adequate notice of layoffs, as it says Violates federal and California law. Additionally, as the situation unfolded, advertisers began to freeze spending. What this company had to say about it:
“In an effort to keep Twitter on a healthy path, on Friday we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce.
We recognize that this will affect many people who have made valuable contributions to Twitter, but unfortunately this move is necessary to ensure the company’s future success.
We recognize that this is an incredibly challenging experience, whether you are affected or not. Thank you for following Twitter’s policies that prohibit you from discussing sensitive company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.”
For her part, Shannon Lees-Riordan, the attorney who filed the California class action lawsuit against Twitter, revealed that Some employees will receive severance pay for two months. This is what he commented:
“It appears that employees are receiving their notices and at least some will be paid by January 4. I am pleased that Elon Musk has learned from the lawsuit we filed against him at Tesla and is trying to comply with the WARN Act. We have already filed this case to ensure that the violation does not happen again.”
Along with these, Volkswagen AG, Pfizer Inc. And companies like General Mills Inc. have suspended spending on Twitter, something like that Elon Musk cited it as a decision caused by “pressure from activist groups.”, something that has not yet been confirmed. What he pointed out is:
“Twitter has seen a huge drop in revenue as activist groups put pressure on advertisers, even though content moderation hasn’t changed and we’ve done everything we can to appease staff. Totally messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.”
Twitter’s revenue has plummeted due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, although content moderation hasn’t changed anything and we’ve done everything we can to please activists.
Extreme chaos! They are trying to destroy free speech in America.

It is unknown at this time how the company will respond to this claim, or we could see more legal backlash from staff in the coming days. In related matters, Elon Musk wants to revive an old social network.
Editor’s note:
Elon Musk’s leadership at Twitter started off on the wrong foot, and a big one. It seems no one is happy with Tesla’s director’s decision, and considering that key people in key areas of the company have been fired, the community is starting to worry.
