Motorola’s presentation in China includes not only the new Moto X40 and Edge 40 Pro, but also new mid-range smartphones. The Moto G53 caught our attention because it’s well-equipped. But it’s not all gold that glitters in the creator’s colorful pictures.
5G and significantly more memory
The G53 features a faster 6.5″ display with a 120 refresh rate instead of 90 Hz. Cons: Now it’s probably an LCD again and not an OLED panel. The main memory has been doubled to 8 GB of RAM, data storage remains at 128 GB and can be expanded by 1024 GB. Qualcomm continues to deliver processors, this time a 5G model.
A 50 MP main sensor is used for the rear camera, which definitely takes very good pictures. However, there is no optical image stabilization. The second camera is again macro rather than ultra wide angle. The battery still has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and Android 13 is already working ex. The latter is good news, as updates for older devices won’t be available until 2023.
