The Kinotehnik Practilite 634 Bi-Color LED Aspheric Zoom Fresnel Finally available for purchase. It was announced in early 2022.
The Kinotehnik Practilite 634 Bi-color LED Aspheric Zoom Fresnel is a variable beam, smartphone-controlled fixture designed for use by single shooters or small crews.
I previously reviewed the first Practilite Bi-Color Smart LED Fresnels in 2017. If you’re looking for a high-quality, portable bi-color LED light, I’ve found them to be a very good option. They are built like a tank, provide plenty of output and very accurate color. A big deal is that the light output is almost identical regardless of which CCT is set. The light falloff was some of the best I’ve seen from an LED Fresnel fixture. The 15 to 75 degree beam angles of the 602 and 604 give the lights a lot of flexibility depending on what you need to do.
Okay, so let’s get back to the Practilite 634 Bi-Color.
Key benefits
- Claimed Output: 30,000 Lux at 3.3′ (5600K).
- Boost Mode Output: 42,000 lux at 3.3′
- 3000-6000K bi-color COB LED
- CRI 97 | TLCI 98 (claimed)

The light is CCT adjustable from 3000-6000K and features a 2.8″ aspheric 6x zoom lens. The aspheric zoom lens allows you to adjust the beam angle from 10-60° using a simple manual zoom knob on the back of the fixture.
The fixture draws just 65W and weighs 2.9 lb/ 1.3kg.
The Practilite features integrated analog controls and an OLED display. You can control up to six lights from your phone with the free Bluetooth app for iOS and Android devices. The 634 can also be controlled from the console via DMX.
Practilite’s form factor makes it compatible with ProPhoto speed rings, reflectors, and more.
