If you use the Anker Solix system, you will need to replace the inverter soon. This is because of the VDE specification, which the MI60 inverter probably does not fully comply with. However, you can rest easy, because Anker is bringing you a new inverter and has released an official statement for it.
In the current debate about inverters, the VDE (Association of German Electrical Engineers) has noticed that some protective circuits are missing in inverters. Anker has one too conducted its own internal investigation And check the MI60 inverter for this problem. It has been noticed that parts are actually affected there as well, which is why Anker has actively contacted the Federal Network Agency and will run an exchange campaign.
Official statement from Anker:
“The safety of our customers is an absolute priority for Anker Solix. As a precautionary measure, Anker SOLIX immediately stopped the sale and distribution of all MI60 inverters (600 watts) and arranged an unrestricted exchange.
We recently discovered that some examples of MI60 (600 Watt) inverters contain a component that does not comply with a specific safety regulation for the German market. Although these products are safety compliant in all other markets, we take every measure to ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulations.
Anker is offering a free exchange for the Anker SOLIX MI80 Inverter (600 and 800 Watt) to all customers who own the SOLIX MI60 Inverter (600 Watt). The new product fully complies with the latest local safety standards.”
