Sometimes, however, when information is the prize, you may be better off without it. There are many dark and disturbing details waiting to be revealed in Sword Coast – such as the terrifying way in which the evil Orin was conceived.

Another disturbing detail was discovered by a player after talking to a rescue baby owl in the first chapter.
Baldur’s owl ate three of his young
Reddit-Beuser Pecodice shared Screenshot of Tough’s conversation with Owl Boy. After telling the player that he loves their camp, the cub says that Scratch the dog reminds him of his older brother.
When asked about his older brother, the cub reveals his dark fate: he was eaten by his mother.

Of course, nature can be cruel and cannibals are not entirely uncommon among animals. Many species even eat their young, like owls.

This is not the only example of cannibalism in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you kill the bear in Chapter 1, the same cub you can adopt while starving and eats its mother – perhaps partly to avenge its father. big brother
Given everything we know about bears, this isn’t a particularly surprising detail. However, knowing that a mother owl has eaten her young can help individuals torn between killing the owl and taking the chick back to their camp to make the right decision.
