German developer Kin Games has announced that their co-op survival action RPG “Enshrouded” will enter Early Access on Steam on January 24, 2024. First presented in May 2023, the title has already garnered great attention and success at the Steam Next Fest. Enshrouded is Kin Games’ first self-published game since Portal Knights and combines elements of survival with combat and voxel-based building.
After years of development and a successful demo, the team is happy to announce the release date, deliberately chosen based on the success of the demo. The developers bring a wide range of experience to the project and try to offer players an open world with various possibilities.
“Enshrouded” was inspired by “Portal Knights,” which served as a spiritual foundation, and games like “Valheim,” which took a more relaxed approach to the survival genre. Elements from games like “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Minecraft” were also incorporated to encourage creativity and craftsmanship in the game.
The core elements of the game are characterized by freedom and flexibility, and it is powered by a specially developed voxel-based engine. Since its release, Kin Games’ YouTube channel has released various gameplay videos, which explore the game’s core mechanics such as combat, building, terraforming, survival, and exploration.
Enshrouded will initially launch in Early Access for PC on Steam on January 24, 2024, with a full release and console version planned for the future. Those interested can wishlist the game on Steam and find more information on the official website and social media like Discord, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
