During today’s Evo panel, SNK shared some exciting announcements for King of Fighters 15 as well as Samurai Showdown.
For The King of Fighters, this includes both short- and long-term DLC, such as the release date of the recently released Team Awakened Orochi characters, and for Samsung, it’s about network codes.
The developers took the stage to give some details and screenshots about how the next three Team Orochi fighters and alternate versions of Shermy, Yashiro, and Chris will play. They also offered a release date for the upcoming batch: August 8th.
The panel also said that a cross-platform game is being worked on for KOF15, but that it won’t be ready to play until sometime in 2023. Currently, Sony console users can play with each other, but not with Microsoft users. However, this is about to change in the coming months.
Evo’s biggest shows tend to happen on finals day, and SNK said they didn’t show everything this weekend. While we’re definitely looking forward to getting our hands on Team Awakened Orochi in just three days, we’ll soon have another new team to look forward to with another release scheduled for Sunday.
Another DLC season for The King of Fighters 15 has finally been confirmed, with additional information to be revealed on Sunday.
Samurai Showdown released in 2019 will get a net undo code to play online on almost all platforms. The developers are targeting Spring 2023 for this update and it will be available on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch (due to technical limitations according to the developers).
