Godox has announced the AD100Pro strobe. The Pocket Flash AD100Pro includes features from Godox’s existing AD series, including compatibility with the Godox radio system, while incorporating an extremely compact, lightweight design.
The Godox AD100Pro has a can-shaped design and weighs about 18.5 oz. (524g), including its battery. The round flash head includes magnetic capabilities, allowing photographers to use compatible Godox magnetic modifiers. Users can also attach the AD100Pro flash to an S2 bracket, which allows for the use of Bowen-mount light modifiers.
The Godox AD100Pro weighs only 524g (battery included). In addition to its compact stature, the strobe incorporates numerous features, such as 2.4GHz wireless, TTL, HSS and modeling light. |
Like other AD strobes, the AD100Pro includes 2.4GHz wireless functionality. This allows it to work with major camera brands by connecting the X1, X2 or XPRO trigger to your camera. Godox flashes, including the AD100Pro, are compatible with cameras from Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and Sony. Utilizing Godox X wireless technology, the AD100Pro can be used across 32 wireless channels in up to 5 groups. The wireless range is just under 330′ (100m).
The flash includes a 2,600mAh battery, which Godox states provides 360 full-power flashes on a single charge. This is the same battery as used by the Godox V1 speedlight.
The AD100Pro doesn’t have a bare bulb, but rather has just the round Fresnel flash head with its magnetic modifier mount. The AD100Pro has 100Ws power and power output can be adjusted in nine steps. Its color temperature is stated to be around 5800K, +/- 200K. The flash includes a 1.8W COB LED modeling light with 10 power levels.
In terms of sync speed, via high-speed sync (HSS), you can shoot with shutter speeds as fast as 1/8,000s. Additional flash modes include first-curtain sync and second-curtain sync. Recycle time ranges from 0.01-1.5 second, depending upon flash power.
