AI chatbot Google Bird has gained another power: the latest version can now analyze and summarize YouTube videos. Currently, this feature is only available in the English language version in the United States.
Bird, Google’s AI-powered tool, can now read content YouTube video analysis and interpretation. This means that the functionality of the chatbot has been expanded to include a significant capability. Originally, when launched in February 2023, Bird’s abilities were fairly limited. Most recently there was an update for Google services integration and the company also showcased a new version of Google Assistant with Bard AI, which will be available to the public in the coming months.
An example that Google just presented shows Bird’s enhanced capabilities: users can Ask for specific details from YouTube videos, such as the number of eggs needed in an olive oil cake recipe video. These improvements enable deeper engagement with video content and allow users to access information without having to watch the videos
Video transcripts are required for analysis
Bird’s performance seems to be based on analysis Transcript of YouTube video. If no transcripts are available, the analysis appears to have failed. Interestingly, Bird does not analyze any images or audio. However, with existing transcripts, the results are impressive.
This YouTube analytics function is currently available Only in the English language version of Bard in the US However, users in Germany can access this feature in a roundabout way by using a VPN and changing their Google Account language to English.
This innovation by Google Bard shows the growing potential of AI tools in analyzing and summarizing video content. It remains to be seen how this technology will develop and to what extent it will be made available to users outside the US and in other languages in the future.
