Less than a month before the official market launch, the official press material of the upcoming Google Pixel 8a is leaking widely and with it some exciting information about the new Android phone. For example, Google is bringing some AI functions to the camera area that we already know from the Pixel 8 series.
There will be “Best Recordings”, Audio Magic Eraser and Knight Sight. The new function for Gmail is also mentioned here for the first time, where long messages can be summarized by AI at the touch of a button. Crystal clear calls, which remove background noise, are also included.
The best news is probably the consistent update guarantee for this price range, as the Pixel 8a will be covered for seven years. Not with every new function of course, but with security updates and new Android versions. At under 600 euros, no other manufacturer even comes close to offering this.
Thick edges of the display which is not really nice. Otherwise, I like the rounded look; Also, the fine print in one of the screenshots states that the charging speed via cable is still max 18 watts, so no improvement there.
