Honor smartphones will be available for German customers

The latest deal on patents also suggests that a deal with Nokia may be in the offing.

Another smartphone brand managed to reach an agreement on a patent dispute with Nokia, so the devices will remain in the German market. Which is another sign for us that the company behind Oppo didn’t have much interest in the German market. Honor on the other hand is interested and has signed a comprehensive deal with Nokia.

“Nokia today announced the signing of a new cross-patent licensing agreement with Honor covering both parties’ fundamental innovations in 5G and other mobile technologies. The terms of the agreement remain confidential between the parties.” write below The Finnish group in its latest announcement.

Nokia itself no longer manufactures smartphones, but is still an important name in mobile communications. “This is the fourth major, non-judgmental smartphone agreement that Nokia has entered into in the last 12 months and again emphasizes the strength of Nokia’s patent portfolio and its decades of contributions to mobile standards and other technologies.”

Honor hasn’t been on our radar in the recent past, but from 2024 we’ll give Huawei’s former subsidiary another chance. I hope that people have really liberated themselves in how they communicate this outwardly and publicly.
