They’ve been threatening it for a while, and now, it’s finally here, some LinkedIn users are seeing this new warning in the app.
Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. Six other emoji response options In the LinkedIn post.
Or you could have it – accordingly LinkedInThe ‘funny’ response is It is slowly being rolled out, and is not yet available to everyone
But it’s coming, giving you an easy way to express that a LinkedIn post has ‘made you laugh, feel humorous, or have light-hearted fun in a professional context.’
The professional context is the main parameter that LinkedIn wants to emphasize, because the platform contains a lot of invisible junk, which has been posted for the attention of users.
Although some of the relevant stuff is pretty bad, as shown in this montage @ Sambahreni.
As is the case on all social platforms, the big trending posts on LinkedIn are repeated and reposted by others, to maximize engagement, which some ‘growth hackers’ will see as talent, but for regular users who have been shown the same trick a billion times, this is the best experience. No.
Still, the good thing about LinkedIn is that the proliferation of junk posts is a side effect of more engagement, people are looking for such hacks and tricks because posting on LinkedIn can bring benefits.
In fact, the platform has grown to record levels of engagement over the past two years, and given the current economic climate, you can bet that many more people will use LinkedIn next year, as they change. Introduce, and look for new opportunities.
But still, I’m not entirely sure that a funny response is helpful, it will probably encourage more off-topic posts to get these responses.
By the way, funny feedback has been a highly requested feature.
Back in February, Tomar Cohen, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer Said:
“One of the top requests we received was for laughter emoji responses. We hear you out loud and clear and we agree. Humor is really a serious business. “
So I personally think it’s not really relevant whether it’s good or not, people want it, and LinkedIn wants to give people what they want.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll see soon, when you can read more about LinkedIn’s ‘funny’ response. Here.
