- Motorola has launched the Moto E7 Plus in India.
- It brings a Snapdragon 460 chipset, 5,000mAh battery, and 48MP rear camera.
- The phone will retail for Rs 9,499 (~$129) when it goes on sale next week.
The Moto E7 Plus arrived in Brazil earlier this month, bringing a pretty solid low-end smartphone experience to the table on paper. Now, the budget Motorola phone is spreading its wings to India.
Motorola’s new phone packs plenty of power compared to its predecessor, delivering a Snapdragon 460 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. The former feature is pretty noteworthy, as it marks the first time we see powerful CPU cores in a Snapdragon 400 series chipset. So you should theoretically expect improvements like smoother browsing, a more responsive camera app, and faster loading times.
You’ve also got a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen (1,600 x 720) here, while Motorola says the 5,000mAh battery should give you two days of usage. Unfortunately, 10W charging means the Moto E7 Plus will be spending a long time at the charger once it runs out of juice. You’ll also need to use a microUSB cable to charge the phone instead of more modern USB-C connectivity.
Motorola’s new phone isn’t the most feature-packed camera platform either, but a 48MP+2MP rear setup and an 8MP front camera in a notch should handle photos just fine. Fortunately, you’re still getting the firm’s software tricks like Spot Color, Night Vision, and Cutout functionality.
Other noteworthy Moto E7 Plus features include a water-repellent design, rear fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm port, and Bluetooth 5. Just don’t expect NFC here though. Nevertheless, between the cameras, battery, and chipset, it’s still a big upgrade over the Moto E6 Plus.
The budget phone goes on sale in India from September 30 via Flipkart. Expect to pay Rs 9,499 (~$129) for the phone. This price puts the Moto E7 Plus within range of phones like the Redmi 9 Prime and the Realme Narzo 10A.
