Do you want to pay less than 200 euros for a new smartphone? Then there are new models from Motorola for you to choose from
Motorola is expanding its budget smartphone lineup with three new models: Moto G04, G24 and G34 5G. While all three devices share a large 5,000 mAh battery, expandable memory, a 3.5mm jack connection and a water-resistant design, there are also some notable differences.
The entry-level model Moto G04 uses the Unisoc T606 processor, while the mid-range device G24 is powered by the more powerful MediaTek Helio G85. The top model G34 5G, on the other hand, scores with the Snapdragon 695 5G chip from Qualcomm and – as the name suggests – 5G support.
There are also differences between the cameras: the G04 has a 16 MP main camera, while the G24 and G34 5G have a 50 MP camera – although thanks to pixel binning you can only expect 12 MP photos in the end. However the g04 is an odd choice in the lineup, as sister model g04s have the same 50 MP sensor for the same price. The G24 and G34 5G also have a 2 MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
The three models do not differ in terms of the “RAM Boost” feature, where portions of data storage are released for main memory. Whether this actually makes a difference in practice remains to be seen. The water-resistant design is also a welcome feature, although you should keep in mind that the devices are not fully waterproof according to the IP52 standard, but only keep out drops of water.
Smartphone | pres | the color |
---|---|---|
Motorola G34 | 169,99 euros | Charcoal black, ice blue, ocean green |
Motorola G24 | 129,99 euros | Matte charcoal, ice green, pink lavender |
Motorola G04 | 119,99 euros | Concorde Black, Sea Green, Satin Blue, Sunrise Orange |
Motorola G04s | 119,99 euros | Concorde Black, Sea Green, Satin Blue, Sunrise Orange |
Overall, with the G04, G24 and G34 5G, Motorola seems to offer a solid selection of budget smartphones under 200 euros, which differ primarily in their processors and cameras. I also like a higher refresh rate of 90 or even 120 hertz on the G34, which would make the display reasonably smooth.
If the budget is not strictly limited to 130 euros, I would definitely recommend investing 170 euros in the G34, just because of the significantly more efficient chip and 5G connectivity. You can probably find the only option in a similar price range Samsung with Galaxy A15 5G.
