More powerful package in every sense
The Razr and Razr 5G have changed a fair bit under the hood. The latter offers a more powerful Snapdragon 765G processor, 5G networking, a slightly larger battery and a new camera package. Despite these improvements, the Razr 5G did not tick the many flagship boxes you would expect from such a premium handset.
We would definitely like to see another push in processing power. Similarly, some future proofing in the charging section will not go wrong. Although 15W is still quite common in places that can be folded, by modern standards it is painfully slow. On the other hand, Motorola’s 36W turbopower can probably be too harmful for a medium battery size below 3,000mAh. However, power in the 20-25W range must be appreciated by power users who may need to top up the phone during the day.
A few additional flagship features
The Razr series points to a higher price point, but many traditional flagship features are still missing.
Previous models, for example, have no IP rating or wireless charging, and we would certainly appreciate some extra protection with the Razr 3. Of course, the camera packages also sell smartphones and the Razr 3 could use an update here as well. A new head sensor and a second rear lens are likely to suit the leaked space and this will add a lot of on-demand flexibility to the package.
We don’t need the best of everything here. The most important thing is to fit everything into the clamshell form factor, above all. But a good processor and fancy flagship features will surely ensure that the Razr 3 is bound to be a fiercely competitive 2022 marketplace.
Embrace the 120Hz display revolution
Okay, so the above might be a more deliberate thought rather than a strictly necessary improvement. But the Motorola Razr 3 must adopt the latest and greatest flexible display technology. After all, the display is a key part of the clamshell smartphone design.

That’s right, the modern Razr is all about that luxurious look and feel, so we certainly aren’t expecting a turn for the cheapest – especially not keeping in mind our hardware wish list. But something close to the $ 1,000- $ 1,200 mark seems a must if the Razr 3 has a chance to compete with the Z Flip 3.
