The Pixel 7a has landed on the Facebook Marketplace for more than a month with the original packaging and photos of the device more than half a year before its market launch. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were in various hands as prototypes four months before their market launch. The Pixel tablet can be bought as a prototype on eBay half a year before its market launch – with a docking station!
Google cannot keep official material behind the door
It’s been a common occurrence over the past few years for new Google devices to pop up on the web early and then periodically. Pixel 8 Pro was no exception, the first images were already available in July 2023. But it’s quieter than usual, with perhaps fewer prototype units entering this time than usual.
Google has gradually shifted production of Pixel devices to other countries in recent years, and this transition phase could be an issue for privacy. But one is still not quite sure. Because initially this year from Magic Audio Eraser, official images and video material seems to have been leaked.
