It’s finally time to lay all our cards on the table… Poker Club is the next title from the team here at Ripstone and it’s arriving on Xbox Series X and Xbox One later this year. We have been hard at work on Poker Club for quite some time now and we are very excited to share our vision for the future of competitive poker in video games. Before I go into any more detail, I’d like to share a glimpse into how it feels to live the life of a poker pro in Poker Club, in our announcement trailer above.
That’s just a taste of the action Poker Club has to offer. We’re creating a brand new premium poker experience for players on PC and console that focuses on bringing players together through Clubs, online tournaments and shared goals. Not only that, we’ve gone all-in and are betting big (I’ve been saving these poker puns for this very moment) on next-gen, and on Xbox Series X you can expect a jackpot of audio visual goodness. Expect up to 4K visuals at 60fps and advanced rendering techniques that make the most of the Unreal Engine 4 feature-set, including ray tracing. The game offers multiple viewpoints to capture the feeling of sitting at the poker table as closely as possible, including a first-person action camera to truly immerse players in the game like never before. Poker has never looked so good!
We’ve been developing for the Xbox One platform for seven years now and know just how to make that hardware sing. You’ll be delighted with how Poker Club looks and plays on the console you already have. Plus, with our support for Smart Delivery, if you do decide to upgrade to Xbox Series X later down the line, you already own the next-gen version of Poker Club and it’ll be there ready for you to download. With cross-generational and cross-platform play, Poker Club has you covered as we build the biggest combined PC and console poker community, whilst making it easier than ever to play together.
Our goal with Poker Club is to create the definitive Texas hold ’em video game experience. Want to go on a poker odyssey? Then take on the challenge of the PCC Poker Tour, an immersive online career mode that takes players on a journey from backroom card shark to bringing in the big bucks at the PCC main events. From Single-Table and Multi-Table tournaments, to Freezeouts, Shootouts, Turbos, Super Turbos, Bounties and more, we’re bringing more ways to play than ever before. There’s even customisable private games, open tables and full-scale tournaments. Whether you’re new to the table or a seasoned poker pro, Poker Club’s advanced Poker 101 tutorial system offers advice for beginners and advanced players alike, and will have you raking in the chips in no time.
Character customisation plays a huge part in our game and you can change up your style, apparel and even table accessories. And with that in mind, we’ve made Poker Club a truly social experience. Flaunt your latest look as well as your card skills, and unlock new rewards as you go. Want to work towards shared goals and team up with fellow high rollers? Join a Club or even start your own for access to a Club portal that includes leaderboards, exclusive tournaments and daily chip bonuses tailored to your members. The best way to play is together in a club and we can’t wait to see how things play out with Club rivalries thrown into the mix.
With all these options for Texas hold ’em, you’re probably wondering where you’ll be playing. Poker Club features seven meticulously designed arenas to play in, and we’ve got a full house of expected poker locales from the low-key tables in Ralph’s Pizzeria, to the glitz and glamour of the Intensity Arena which you can see for the first time in the screenshot below:
On behalf of the whole team here at Ripstone Games, we hope you are looking forward to trying out Poker Club when it comes to Xbox Series X and Xbox One later this year. There’s a whole lot more to discuss and we can’t wait to share it with you.
