CTR and Hydra-Autor Yuri Popili aka 1usmusThere’s a tuning tool in town, and this time it’s more focused on diverting GPU power away from the CPU with a new tool called RMP or Radeon Monster Profile that should deliver higher performance and power on the RDNA 2, as well as savings.
Radeon Monster “RMP” Profile Reveals Full Potential of AMD’s RDNA 2 GPUs, Coming This Fall
According to Yuri, the Radeon Monster Profile aims to improve the performance and wattage of AMD’s Radeon GPUs, through a series of unique settings using a new voltage/frequency curve. This allows the graphics card to develop to its maximum potential. Although the GPU is the main component of any graphics card, RMP pays special attention to the memory subsystem, where the operating voltage can be reduced by 6%, resulting in lower power consumption and less heat dissipation in GDDR6 memory modules.
RMP (Radion Monster Profile) increases performance by overclocking the core (GPU) required for operating voltage. In one example, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card may experience a +300 MHz frequency increase compared to its standard operation. This enables a performance increase of up to 13% compared to series products.
In an example shown, the RMP-optimized AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT delivers roughly the same power consumption as the original while increasing the tire/$ rating by 21%, which is very impressive.
Radeon Monster Profile (RMP) offers a variety of universal and custom profiles. You should not change factory settings such as thermal throttling limits and fan speeds stored in the GPU’s BIOS. It does not increase the operating voltage or change the current limit. But one requirement to ensure you get the best performance from RMP is GPU cooling. A good AMD Radeon graphics card cooling solution can lead to better GPU results. Most non-reference Radeon RX 6000 series cooling solutions meet the required cooling conditions.
At launch, scheduled for this fall, the RMP (Radion Monster Profile) will be integrated Hydra suit-suit which is used to tune AMD’s Ryzen CPUs. It is presented with different OC profiles and tunings with different maximum allowed power limits. Profiles are currently under development, so the performance shown here may differ from the final product According to Yuri, RMP will have RDNA 2 GPU support at launch, with plans to add support for the upcoming RDNA 3 GPUs in the future.
