If there isn’t a lot of new hardware, Samsung wants to be able to convince people with new camera features.
After a few words from the announcement, it is clear that this new zoom feature will definitely make its way to the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. This is a new highlight of the 200MP main camera that was already available on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, a prerequisite for the new Zoom seems to be a significantly more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Samsung calls the new technology Zoom Anyplace. It makes it possible to zoom in on an object, but at the same time still film the entire image section. It uses an image sensor to shoot two films at the same time, so to speak, if the subject lets you zoom in deeper.
Thanks to proprietary AI tracking technology, ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace automatically zooms and tracks the desired video subject while simultaneously recording the scene in an enlarged view.
This is another innovation that clearly shows that Samsung wants to exploit as much as possible. And new functions are definitely needed to make the 200MP image sensor look better again, as it doesn’t really have the same level of image quality as Google, Xiaomi or Apple.
