I feel like I’m breaking a record here, but with the new Pixel 9 leaked this week, many are still asking about a “mini” device from Google, forgetting that small phones are dead.

In the last decade smartphones… really Big While a regular phone used to be small by modern standards, many of us carry around tablets these days — literally in some cases, thanks to foldable devices. But as phone screens entered the 6-7 inch world, there was always a group of people asking for smaller smartphones.
It became clear time and time again that small telephones practically no longer worked.
A recent reminder of this is the Asus Zenfone 11, which added “Ultra” to the name and increased the package size, displacing the last top-of-the-line Android phone with a screen size under 6 inches. It was no surprise that a small phone would not realistically survive in today’s market. The Pixel Fold has a very small external display that was a joy to use, but Google did away with it in the sequel.
People talk and overwhelmingly like big phones. Well, if Apple can’t make the “mini” work, then, as I said, no Android manufacturer will in 2022.
Amid the new Pixel 9 series leaks that revealed Google will have three devices to choose from, there are still calls for a “mini” to join Google’s lineup. I don’t think that will ever happen, just because there is no market for it, but because… mostly For those asking for a smaller phone, the Pixel 9 series will actually come pretty close to what they’re looking for.
Both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are expected to sport a lower end 6-inch display and both devices are said to measure 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm. It’s just a hair larger than the Pixel 8, which Abner Lee praised as “the little phone of my dreams” in a review last year.
In fact, I think it’s as small as a modern phone. broad, extensive Most people will be excited to have a flagship experience on a device of this size, as it nicely splits the difference between something really “small” like the iPhone 13 mini, and something modern enough to be large by standards.
In short, the “Pixel Mini” of your dreams will (probably) never happen. So let’s be happy that it looks like we’re getting a full-featured, tiny “Pixel Mini.”
