Sony released Xperia 5V- Smartphone With some great features and an inferior camera, as well as a slightly lower price. The company promises an “exceptional music and video experience” thanks to an HDR display, updated speakers and more – at a slightly lower price than the previous Xperia 5 IV model.
Sony’s smartphones are all about the camera and while the camera selection is seemingly poor, there is good news in this regard. The Xperia 5V (yes, that’s a “five”) features the same 1/1.35-inch, 52-megapixel (BSI) Exmor-T illuminated sensor as the Xperia 1V, which means it’s very fast and very good in low-light situations. Additionally, Sony has improved its AI-assisted “bokeh mode” for photos “closer to interchangeable-lens camera standards,” according to the company.
As the image above shows, the Xperia 5 IV now has just two rear cameras instead of three – a 48MP Exmor-T camera and a 12MP 16mm ultra-wide camera – but its primary sensor is much larger. Compared to previous 12-megapixel telephoto cameras, the resolution and can dynamically switch between 24mm and 48mm focal lengths (about 48mm and 96mm at 35mm), so you’re still getting 2x equivalent optical zoom (without loss). Take clearer pictures.
As before, you can record 4K video at up to 120 frames per second in HDR, and it has optical image stabilization as well as 5-axis electronic gyro stabilization for maximum smoothness. Other features include HDR capture, eye tracking, creative look color presets and a new Video Creator app that automatically creates a final video based on your favorite footage and music. And for audio artists, there’s a dedicated voice recording microphone that “picks up your voice above other ambient noise and ambient noise,” says Sony.
It’s also designed as an entertainment device, starting with a 6.1-inch OLED HD+ (1080 x 2520) display (the same specs as the last model). For watching movies, it is equipped with the image quality engine TV Bravia. Thanks to the energy-saving technology, the 5,000 mAh battery can be charged for more than 24 hours and still have 80 percent or more capacity after three years, according to the company. (This is a cautious discussion iPhone 14 from Apple(If you haven’t noticed already.)
Thanks to its flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, 120Hz refresh rate and larger heatsink, the Xperia 5 V should be strong for gaming (it’s available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM with 128GB of expandable storage). Meanwhile, Game Enhancer adds features like an equalizer, voice chat mic and screen recording feature.
Despite the slight price drop in Europe, the Xperia 5 V isn’t cheap. Priced at £849/€999 in the UK/Europe and available from ‘late September’. No word on pricing or availability in the US, but we should hear something soon – as a reminder, the Xperia 5 IV will cost $1,000 at launch.
