Every F1 race starts with a weekend practice session, starting on Friday. This is valuable track time for your team, especially your driver, to prepare for the upcoming weekend. During the three exercises, drive your vehicles to evaluate their performance, increase your driver’s familiarity with the circuit and any new parts you have installed, and get feedback on each vehicle’s setup. Since your team will also include a reserve driver slot, you can even choose to put the backup driver in one of your cars for a practice session, to help develop them.

Things are more competitive here. The F1 qualifying session sets the grid for the race and any slip-up here could seriously hinder your best strategy for Sunday. Qualifying is about giving your drivers the best opportunity to record the fastest possible time – which is easy to say.
While the other nine teams compete to avoid elimination, you will be given the responsibility to make sure your car is on track at the right time. Once you’ve selected the tires and fuel load, you’ll need to look at the session timer, measure on-track traffic, grip levels, and even weather conditions so you don’t get caught. If you nail all of this, and your drivers are confident behind the wheel that thanks to all the practice running, you will get a good shot at qualifying in a strong position.
Race Day: Strategies for Success
A strong qualifying session means you’re in good shape for Sunday’s race, but there’s some more preparation left. Use the data and knowledge you have gathered to create a race strategy for your drivers, to cover pit stops, to select tires, and even to determine how much pressure your drivers should apply during each task.
During all on-track action in F1 Manager 2022, you are provided with detailed information and options for staying on top of the action, provided in an authentic broadcast-quality presentation. Ride between on-board and track-side cameras in each vehicle, watch live field time, track track conditions, and more to help your team get to the finish line. Instruct your race engineers to give your drivers specific instructions, such as getting on their tires easily, staying away from carbs, and avoiding fighting with their teammates. Many real-world drivers and engineers in F1 Manager 2022 have even real-world audio calls that you will hear as soon as the action is released.
