The big Gamescom kick-off show on Tuesday was briefly interrupted by a stage invasion.
Gamescom Opening Night Live host and producer Jeff Kelly was cut off when the man in question approached him at the start of the show.
“Bill Clinton wants to play GTA 6,” the stage intruder appeared to repeat several times before security escorted him away.
This was apparently a reference to Matan Evin, aka Bill Clinton’s kid, who was arrested after storming the stage at last year’s Game Awards (one of Kelly’s productions) during Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Game of the Year acceptance speech.
“It’s very disappointing,” Kelly said after taking the stage Tuesday. “It’s a special night for a lot of developers and it’s really disappointing to see someone behave like this.”
“It’s very sad for me to see something like this happen on a night where we’re here to celebrate the Games and this community and how important they are to us,” he added.

Keighley later announced that this year’s Game Awards would take place on 7 December.
In one of the gaming industry’s most notable data leaks, over an hour of GTA 6 development footage was leaked online last September, giving gamers their first look at the sequel to one of the best-selling games of all time.
The leaked footage shows open-world gameplay from GTA 6’s alpha version and appears to confirm an earlier report that the game will be set in Vice City and feature a female protagonist.
Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two has forecast a sharp increase in sales for the next fiscal year starting in April 2024, boosted by the release of “several flagship titles”, during which GTA 6 is expected to launch.
