My appreciation for the Fairphone 4 only went online when the Dutch manufacturer surprised me with the next good news. The latest smartphone from the Fairphone company can be purchased with a subscription at least in neighboring countries.
If you pay more for the whole period than if you order it directly from 579 euros, the highlight: repair, which is not a problem with the Fairphone 4 for modular design, is fully included. This also applies to batteries, which can be replaced by free fairphones.
Prices are cheaper every year
Concrete prices staggered a little harder. The longer you keep the smartphone intact, the less it will be. In the first year, 21 euros per month, in the second 19 euros, in the third 17 euros and in the fourth and fifth years finally 13 euros per month should be deposited.
The main thing is that it adds down to 1,000 euros – an increase of 350 euros compared to 650 euros for variants with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
However, if you have repaired, the price does not go down year after year. An exception to this is battery replacement, such as peers Hayes Experienced.
150 euros exempt in case of theft
And what if you foolishly broke your smartphone or let it be stolen? You must report the theft within 72 hours and then deduct “only” 150 euros. You will have to pay full price if you miss the deadline or if you destroy the device through your own fault.
Of course, you shouldn’t consider it as such if you don’t actually own the device. Any “permanent” changes are therefore prohibited including installing custom ROMs. If you can handle it, you can opt for Fairphone’s smartphone subscription. Depending on how it is received in the Netherlands, it may also come to Germany next year.
Could this type of smartphone subscription be something for you or do you value the device entirely as yours?
