2022 was not the best year for Xbox. With the game studio leading various games after the end of 2021, the past few months have lacked such big releases Forza Horizon 5. Thus, We had the opportunity to speak with the main Jörg Neumann Microsoft Flight SimulatorAbout this theme.
In our recent chat with Newman, the director told us that there are no major releases from Xbox at the moment, We will see more content in the future. He told us about Asobo Studio’s relationship with game studios and how these teams work.
“Microsoft and Asobo, I’ll put it this way, the leaders of the two companies are friends, and I mean it, so the relationship is great. What feels like Microsoft is like a country, and game studios are federations, doing their own projects independently, and each releasing their own games when they’re ready. From the outside, it seems that there is nothing from Microsoft, but there is, at some point you will see the opposite. There are many teams, and everyone is doing great things.
Personally, as a creator I hate games that aren’t good, it’s a waste of everyone’s time. Consumers get frustrated, it breaks the hearts of developers who have spent years doing this, and it’s healthy not to have the pressure to release something imperfect, it’s the best thing that could happen. I know everyone wants to play Starfield, I want to play Starfield, but I want to play good Starfield, I don’t care when it comes out.
What I’ve learned in recent years is that it’s not about money, it’s about people’s time. There is an unlimited amount of content in our lives. I grew up with three TV channels and now have hundreds. Getting the audience’s attention is the real value, and you have to be very careful not to waste their time, they won’t forget it.”
Newman has quite an interesting point of view. While the public isn’t entirely happy with the lack of games throughout 2022, that could well change in 2023. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. On related topics, you can check out our hands-on Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Here.
