After the popular Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S10, Samsung hasn’t had much success in years. However, the Galaxy S23 series was faster for balanced performance. Now the South Korean company is hoping its next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S24, will sell better than the Galaxy S23.

The Galaxy S24 is expected to sell 35 million units

accordingly Korea Daily reportsSamsung has set a delivery target of 35 million units for the Galaxy S24 series. This is 10% more than the Galaxy S23 series. The South Korean company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024 and will be the company’s first AI-powered Galaxy phone. In comparison, the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 sold less than 30 million units, while the Galaxy S23 series sold 31 million units. Apparently Samsung announced today that they expect to ship 253 million smartphones in 2024, including the Galaxy S24.

An industry insider claims that Samsung’s shipment numbers may go up or down slightly depending on market conditions, but a big shipment target has been set for the company. Analysts expect Apple and Samsung’s annual shipments to remain at the same level of about 250 million next year. Some expect Apple to surpass Samsung’s shipment numbers in 2024, which could be a cause for concern for the South Korean company, which has been the world’s largest smartphone brand for several years.

Samsung wants to sell more high-end Galaxy phones to compete with Apple

According to reports, more than 75% of Samsung phones sold globally are budget models. According to some analyst reports, the average ASP (Average Selling Price) selling price of a Samsung smartphone is $295, while an Apple phone costs $988. To counter this, Samsung has set 2024 as the first year of its flagship smartphone counterattack, plans to sell more high-end phones and wants to see more high-end Galaxy phones in the top ten best-selling smartphones list. .

Daniel Araujo, Corporate Vice President of Samsung MX said:We expect demand for premium products to increase in the smartphone replacement cycle next year. We achieved double-digit growth in annual core shipments and revenue growth above the market growth rate.Additionally, Samsung expects to sell more than 10 million Galaxy Z series smartphones.

It is reported that Samsung internally believes that it can close the gap with Apple by adding artificial intelligence to its smartphones and improving the operating system. To this end, the South Korean company will reportedly work with Google and Microsoft to bring Google Bard or ChatGPT to its smartphones starting with the Galaxy S24 series. On the other hand, Apple wants to increase the shipping volume to increase the sales of its services such as Apple Music, Apple TV+ and iCloud Drive.

Thanks for the tip, returning!
