An event that was out of the ordinary took place in Europe last Saturday, as a supposed meteorite crossed the peninsula. IberianEspecially this has been seen more prominently in countries such as spain and more Portugal, and a video where you can witness the event has gone viral on social networks. And now that the information has been distributed around the world, they have already been able to deny that this is a star of such magnitude, that completely opposite signs are presented.
Such information has been disclosed European Space Agency (ESA), it is not a meteor that passed through the sky, but a small fragment of a comet, and a study was done where they analyzed the size of the object, as well as the speed at which it traveled to determine how much it ultimately did not impact the Earth. It moved over Spain and Portugal at 45 km/s and then disintegrated into the Atlantic Ocean at an altitude of 60 km.
Here you can see it:
☄️😍 ESA’s Fireball Camera in Cáceres, Spain spotted this stunning meteor last night!
Our Office of Planetary Defense is currently analyzing the object’s size and trajectory to assess whether any material made it to the surface.

Many users who were able to see this star at night claimed that it was a meteor, but ESA assured that this is far from reality, since the latter has very different characteristics from already confirmed comets. It has also been established that it would have to collide directly with the Earth’s surface to receive this name, since similar stars simply break apart due to the speed at which they travel.
Here is a description of the comet:
In space and astronomy terms, a comet is a small cosmic object composed mainly of ice, dust and gas that orbits the Sun. Comets are remnants of the formation of the Solar System and come mainly from two regions: the Kuiper Belt and the Oort. the cloud
