HyperOS and a new chipset squeeze out more battery power from the Xiaomi 14 Pro
A popular comparison is the battery test of new and current smartphones, all of which are run back-to-back through the same application. This is the first smartphone with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which Samsung plans to install in the Galaxy S24 Ultra next year. And we’re already learning that Samsung will likely be able to offer more battery life in addition to more performance. And we again see the big gap in the Tensor G3 chipset.
Xiaomi relies on the latest high-end chipset and the new HyperOS
The following comparisons include: Xiaomi 14 Pro, Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Google Pixel 8 Pro, OnePlus 11 and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Fast forward a bit and the Pixel 8 Pro is well ahead of the competition, even though the Pixel phone’s battery offers the most power. It’s still a bit embarrassing.
No Android phone stands a chance against the iPhone yet, but the bottom line is that the Xiaomi 14 Pro is the best Android device. Ultimately, this is very positive news for the Chinese manufacturer, which they will surely be happy to take with them.
If you look at the last comparison with Xiaomi 13 Ultra a, then “back” things didn’t look as good for Xiaomi as they do today with the new 14 Pro. So you got a lot right, even if the jump doesn’t mean the world, you have to be aware of that. I would even say that the promises of the new HyperOS outweigh the actual difference in everyday life.
