Threads became even more useful as Meta introduced the option to show a timeline of posts from people you follow. Many observers said this was a key feature Thread needed to truly compete with Twitter, which has long been a major source of real-time information. But with Twitter owner (sorry, X) Elon Musk trashing his app, threads seem like a more effective place for the latest news and updates.
You’ll need to update to the latest version of the thread to see the time feed, but you might not right now. To switch between your and followers’ feeds, tap the topic logo or the home icon and you can swipe from one to the other.
Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of Time Feed on his Instagram broadcast channel (Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, He said again that was on such an alternative path). The Meta CEO added that translations gave threads another important function. If you see a post in a language you don’t understand, you can tap the bottom right to translate it
half hat has been added Some other functions of threads. In the Activity tab, you can now filter notifications by followers, replies, mentions, quotes, reposts, and interactions from verified accounts (or just view all notifications at once). The topic team is also introducing a new follow button to make it easier to follow others and a way to approve all your follow requests at once if your account is private.
More to come, Zuckerberg said, hopefully the ability to post to threads from the web, direct messaging, improved accessibility, better search and a TweetDeck-like way to keep track of thread posts. Giving your users what they want is one way to keep them coming back.
