Xiaomi has announced the prices of spare parts for its new flagship smartphone, but one big problem remains.
Xiaomi 14 smartphones have now been launched in China and the manufacturer is now providing some more details about the devices. It now also includes the cost of spare parts, which can be roughly calculated for the European market. There are no unpleasant surprises.
so cost For example, the main board of the Xiaomi 14 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 costs around 300 euros (converted). Taxes and some other costs above, the European price can be 399 euros. But it is by far the most expensive component. The display costs only 630 yuan, which is equivalent to 80 euros.
And to my surprise, a battery costs only the equivalent of 15 euros. Even with the high extra costs in Europe, the battery can be found for less than 50 euros. Everything is within the expected framework. But there is a problem.
Xiaomi still has room for improvement when it comes to spare parts
Xiaomi doesn’t offer us spare parts as extensively as Google does. A deal with iFixit would be a nice thing. For example, there are not only spare parts for the Pixel series, but also instructions and necessary tools.
This is just another thing that shows quite well how Xiaomi still deals with the global market. I would like to see significantly more commitment in the future.
