Google Messages is finally joining other chat apps by offering a way to directly reply to RCS messages – here’s a first look at replies in action.
About APK Insights: In this APK Insights post, we have unzipped the latest version of an app that Google has uploaded to the Play Store. If we decompile these files (called APK files in case of Android apps), we will see different lines of code within these hints for possible future features. Note that Google may or may not ship these features, and our explanation of what they are may be incomplete However, we will try to make it clear to those who are going to finish what they will be like when charging. With that in mind, read on.
Over the years, SMS and instant messaging have become important means of communicating with each other. A small problem that can occur is that in fast-paced chats, such as B. a crowded group chat, it is not always easy to determine which message someone is replying to.
Every modern chat app has fixed this in one way or another. Slack offers threads to keep the discussion of a topic separate from the rest of the discussion in the room. Other apps like iMessage and Discord let you pick a message to reply to and generally add some much-needed flair and context to your message when you send it.
Our team took a close look at Google Messages and adopted the same approach for replies by showing a reply arrow icon when long-pressing on a particular message. Clicking this icon will place the message above the compose bubble and have a cancel button if you change your mind, otherwise you can type your message as usual.
Update 10:55 am: With a little experimentation, we found another way to initiate an RCS response by sending a message to the page with the same response arrow icon. An example can be seen in the gallery below.
It seems sufficient to develop the feature to properly send and receive replies via RCS, with replies appearing in the Google Messages web app. As you would expect, a reply message includes a preview of the original message and the sender’s name. If you click this reply preview, Google will scroll down to the original message.
Even better, as some have mentioned the feature, you won’t have to wait long for replies to be fully available in Google Messages You already live for him. – Thanks Mathew and Kunal!
The ability to reply is one of many new features currently rolling out to Google Messages. Just yesterday we discovered a file Transcribe voice messages One feature that works surprisingly well is the ability to use any emoji as an RCS response. It’s pretty clear that Google has plans to build Google Messages double Making RCS the next big messaging standard.
