While the next big update for Pixel phones isn’t expected until December, there’s likely to be some new stuff coming with the Pixel 7 series. You can already see in the source code of Android 13 QPR1 Beta 2 what Google has planned for the smartphone battery.
How healthy is my Pixel battery?
Again it is confirmed that Google is working on a completely new function. Known from the iPhone. The function is intended to provide information about the battery status of the smartphone. There are also some suggested features that can be used to keep it at a high level for as long as possible.
Google, for example, offers that Pixel phones are adaptive and therefore loaded with intelligence. There is also a mechanism that can protect the battery a little better when used.
The new display will provide better information about the app’s battery consumption
With the arrival of Android 12, Google has drastically changed how battery stats are presented on Pixel phones, and not for the better. Now it seems an update is planned to better inform the user about battery consumption. Screenshots have been around for a long time.
You’ll also find a new list in the Apps area in System Settings that provides information about how to use your apps. For example, which apps have no limitations and which are “optimized”.
View new history for battery usage
Last but not least, users get a new chart that informs about the battery consumption of the last hour and even the day. This revised display is likely already on the devices of the first Pixel users, as shown by the screenshot.
As mentioned in the introduction, I expect new functions with the Pixel feature drop in December. Perhaps these innovations are already in the Pixel 7 smartphone and are therefore exclusive to the new phones for two months.
