Samsung plans a proper update for the upcoming Galaxy A55, for example in graphics.
It becomes clear early on that Samsung is following a very good idea for its new mid-range. The upcoming Galaxy A series will have a big difference in graphics, as they will use an AMD graphics unit from 2024. They are used, for example, in the chipset of the Galaxy S22 and also in the Galaxy S24
Of course, the upcoming Galaxy A55 won’t have the high-end graphics of the S models, but the switch to AMD graphics is still very promising. Unfortunately, we still don’t have any information about the actual graphics performance, but a joint development between Samsung and AMD is definitely an important investment for mid-range smartphones.
Special AMD graphics instead of just a purchased chip
First CPU benchmark results show, that new Exynos 1480 chipset will certainly represent a jump over the Galaxy A54 to 1380, but probably not by much. However, the graphics unit named Xclipse 530 remains a much more exciting point and the first test results will surely appear soon.
