Gamers beware! A legendary collaboration between Magic: The Gathering® and Fallout® promises a post-nuclear, retro-futuristic adventure and expands the world of the card game in exciting ways.
Four new Commander Decks will be released on March 8, 2024, bringing the most iconic characters, weapons, abilities, and locations from many classic Fallout games into the world of Magic: The Gathering. These decks will feature special card prints that faithfully display the video game’s famous green and black Pip-Boy display.
Commander decks are thematically based on the main elements of Fallout:
1. Survival Deck:
- Players search for food, equipment, and allies.
- Dogmeat, a loyal German Shepherd, leads the search.
- The Junk Token mechanic allows you to devote resources to drawing cards.
2. Technology Deck:
- There are high-tech power weapons, scientists and pre-war robots.
- Dr. Madison Lee, a well-known scientist in the Fallout universe, leads the deck.
- Artifacts can generate energy, a perfect mechanic for the world of Fallout.
3. Military Deck:
- Militant group commanders and desert raiders take center stage.
- Caesar, a military dictator of Fallout: New Vegas, leads the troops.
- Clone creatures strengthen the arsenal.
4. Mutant Deck:
- Dangerous and strange mutant creatures from Fallout are represented.
- Mothman leads the deck from Fallout 76.
- Radiation tokens affect your opponent’s deck or strengthen your own.
Also, Legend cards tell stories from an alternate reality of America in Fallout. Decks include Pip-Boy bordered cards and Fallout-style Vault Boy cards without borders in Collector Boosters. The full-print basic land card depicts the unforgettable atmosphere from the Fallout game and features the first post-nuclear sci-fi theme in Magic: The Gathering.
Magic: The Gathering® – Fallout® combines the strategic depth of MTG with the dystopian RPG world of Fallout. Fans of both franchises can look forward to an exciting gaming experience and beautifully designed maps. These decks are sure to have a permanent place in every Magic collection and game.
More details and a first look at the cards can be found in the first look presentation Daily MTG. Wait for March 8, 2024 and immerse yourself in this exciting fusion of two legendary worlds.
