As part of the larger celebration of Pride Month, Meta has launched one today New mini-siteCreate partnerships with National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Which Aims to provide support and assistance to LGBTQ + owned small businesses through a variety of tools, case studies, events and more.
The new mini-site focuses primarily on video tips, including content related to business management, funding, and more.

There is also a featured case study, which shows how various LGBTQ + businesses have seen success through Meta tools.

As mentioned, the initiative is another component of Meter Pride Month Push, which also includes various stickers and effects on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger to help users participate in the celebration.
The focus on SMB-specific support stems from recent data, which shows that approximately one-third of LGBTQ + small business owners reported 50% or more losses during an epidemic.
Of course, most SMBs have been hit hard during this time, but Meta notes that LGBTQ + businesses often face major challenges in securing support:
“While 80% of businesses affected by the epidemic are expected to fully recover this year, it will be even more difficult for the LBGTQ + community as they will face more barriers and inequalities in accessing capital, community building and future plans due to the intersections.”
The emerging economic downturn seems to be exacerbating that pain, and so, the support of all communities is needed, and dedicated support for LGBTQ + companies is another element of that broader push.
On the other front, Meta has also released a new version.LGBTQ + Cultural Guide‘Which is designed to ‘educate and inspire in an authentic way to support the LGBTQ + community on and off our platform’.

The 29-page guide includes tips on how to support LGBTQ + communities and insights into key trends and notes.

There are many ways to show your support during Pride Month, and these tips provide additional guidance for both business and regular users to help you diversify your spending and expand the main message of the event.
