Sony is preparing its new Xperia flagship for 2024, now the camera is possibly leaking.
Sony is giving its upcoming Xperia flagship a very comprehensive camera update that brings a whole new image sensor and technical features. If the rumors are true, Sony is using three 48MP devices, but with different technical requirements.
The image sensor of the main camera is said to be equipped with a very large F/1.4 aperture. Also, the individual pixels are 1.12 micrometers in size, which is pretty decent. Of course, with normal binning technology, the pixels become significantly larger.
Sony is planning a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Compared to the previously used 12 MP image sensor, this will provide a significant boost in detail. There was a similar jump with the Pixel 8 Pro. The physical pixels aren’t that big here and the image sensor is a little cheaper.
Last but not least, a 48 MP image sensor is also used for the zoom camera. The periscope is designed for optical 3x zoom and will also be able to deliver good quality thanks to the high pixel count of the image sensor like the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Sony is probably planning its new flagship for MWC 2024 and hence for the end of February.
